Safety notice for all ring slings | ||
|
YOUR BABY'S SAFETY IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE USING YOUR SLING: Please ensure that you have read the POUCHLINGS WEARING INSTRUCTIONS thoroughly before you use your sling for the first time. It might be best to practice first with a heavy doll (or a bag of potatoes!). When using the "newborn holds" make sure that the pouch is high and tight against you. The pouch should not swing away from your body. In the "cradle hold" especially, ensure that the baby's chin is not pushed onto his chest as this can obstruct his breathing. Always be aware of your baby's breathing. If it sounds laboured, reposition him. Do not overdress your baby - he will be getting warmth from your body and may overheat. When using the "toddler holds" be sure that the fabric extends as far as the knees and at least up to baby's armpits, not just his waist. His bottom should hang lower than his knees. When moving around, adjust your "spatial awareness" so you don't bump the baby on door frames, furniture etc. Older babies can reach out and grab dangerous objects such as kitchen knives, hot pans etc so be vigilant - especially if using the back carry. A sling is not a seat belt and is NOT a substitute for a car seat! All POUCHLINGS slings are made with the utmost care and attention to detail. The rings are anodised aluminium rings from www.slingrings.com All weight bearing seams are triple stitched using Gutterman
threads and the fabrics are natural and durable .Our slings are designed
to be used with children up to 35 lbs (approx 2 - 3 years old), but have
been tested with loads up to 85 lbs. We advise you, however, to always
check the sling for signs of wear and tear before each use and do not
use if you have any concerns. |
